Legislative Council meeting kicks off busy spring schedule

April Events:

Legislative Council and Executive Committee April Meeting will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the MHSAA office in Clinton, MS. Outstanding educators, fine arts directors, and coaches of the year (2013 – 14 sports seasons) recipients will be recognized and honored at the annual awards presentation prior to the committee meeting.

MHSAA Powerlifting Championships, April 17, 18, 2015 with weigh-ins and opening ceremony on Friday, 17th and championship lifting on Saturday, 18th. Come out to support our powerlifters in Jackson, MS at the Mississippi Coliseum.

MHSAA Choral Music Performance Assessments (Festival) will be held on April 15 – 17, 2015 at Pearl High School. Best of luck to all of our choirs and directors who are participating and representing their school and community this school year. (More information may be accessed at misshsaa.com / choral music).

MHSAA State Speech and Debate Championships will be conducted at Ridgeland High School, Ridgeland MS on April 24- 25, 2015. Come and support these amazing students in this terrific state event. (Info may be found at misshsaa.com / speech and debate).
May Events:

MHSAA State Golf Championships will begin (Female) May 4-5, and (Male) May 6-7. Information on the golf courses and start times may be found on the misshsaa.com website. Best of luck to our male and female golfers and teams.

MHSAA Tennis Championships will be conducted at Parham Bridges, Jackson MS and Ridgeland Tennis Center. Team championships will be held May 11 – 13. Come out and support our fine tennis players, teams, and coaches as they compete for a coveted state championship in the sport of tennis.

MHSAA Track Championships will be held at Pearl High School on Friday, May 8 (Classes 1A, 3A, 5A) and Saturday, May 9 (Classes 2A, 4A, 6A). More information may be found at misshsaa.com/sport/track.

MHSAA Fast Pitch Softball Championships begin May 15 – 16, 2015 at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland,MS. This is always a special event with outstanding high school softball teams competing for the coveted gold glove trophy in each classification. (Best of three series)

MHSAA Baseball Championship week is May 19 through May 23. Trustmark Park in Pearl, MS will host the event featuring our 1A – 6A championships teams who have advanced through the baseball playoffs and made their way to the best of three championship series.
