Congratulations to fast pitch champions

Congratulations to the MHSAA/Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi state champions in fast-pitch softball for 2015.

Harrison Central, Neshoba Central, Newton County, Philadelphia, East Webster and Smithville took home the coveted gold glove trophies and championship banners on May 16 at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland.

Class 6A: Harrison Central defeated Madison Central 3-2, 1-3 and 9-1 to win a second straight fast-pitch title and third since 2002.

Class 5A: Neshoba Central defeated West Harrison 11-0 and 10-0 to win a third consecutive championship and fifth since 2005.

Class 4A: Newton County defeated Senatobia 8-3 and 4-2 to win a third straight title and ninth since 2000.

Class 3A: Philadelphia defeated Mooreville 0-10, 16-10 and 5-3 to win its first fast-pitch championship.

Class 2A: East Webster defeated Loyd Star 2-3, 3-1 and 4-3 for a third title in a row and seventh since 2006.

Class 1A: Smithville defeated Nanih Waiya 11-6 and 13-5 to capture its second fast-pitch championship 2012.
